There is a long story behind the historical significance of Shri Ram Mandir in Ayodhya. The iconic Ayodhya Ram mandir was built on the site believed to be the birthplace of Lord Rama in Ayodhya. This temple was demolished by the Mughal emperor Babur in the 16th century and a mouse was built in its place. The Mosque known as the Babri Masjid stood at the place for centuries. The Hindu community people demolished it in 1992. They fought for their Lord Ram Lallas birthplace.

This historic Ayodhya Ram mandir is built in the Nagra style of temple architecture, characterized by its towering spires or shikhara. This iconic temple looks immensely beautiful as pink sandstone is used for making this beautiful piece of heaven. The weight of the 2100-kilogram bell for this iconic temple was brought from Etah. This 6-foot tall and 5-foot wide bell would cost a total Rs. 21 Lakh.  Apart from that, the iconic Ram Mandir is surrounded by a large courtyard and has several smaller shrines dedicated to the other Hindu deities.

One of the most attractive features of this temple is the giant Shaligram stone. It is a black stone believed to represent Lord Ram and that stone is brought from Gandaki river in Nepal.
