Shravani Mela: A Sacred Journey for Lord Shiva DevoteesShravani Mela

Shravani Mela is one of the biggest Hindu festivals celebrated every year during the holy month of Shravan (Sawan), which falls in July and August. The festival is dedicated to Lord Shiva and attracts millions of devotees from across India. The main highlight of the mela is the Kanwar Yatra, where Kanwariyas walk around 105 km from Sultanganj in Bihar to the Baba Baidyanath Temple in Deoghar, Jharkhand. Devotees collect holy water from the Ganga River at Sultanganj and carry it in kanwars placed on their shoulders. They offer this sacred water at the Baba Baidyanath Temple, one of the 12 Jyotirlingas, seeking the blessings of Lord Shiva for peace, happiness, and prosperity.
